LESLIE STONER| ENCAUSTIC ARTIST

Maze artist Leslie Stoner grew up in Northwest Montana on a farm tucked deep in the woods of the Rocky Mountains and currently resides on a remote island in the Pacific Northwest.  Her imagery is a reflection of both environments; and her ongoing engagement as an abstract artist with what lies beneath and what floats above, with an emphasis on where the two meet.

She creates large scale mazes using archival inks on Birch panels. This process is a slow and steady one which forces her mind to slow down and create through a calm meditative state. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from Cornish College of the Arts, with a double major in Painting and Photography and went on to manage the professional studios of painters Betsy Eby and Bo Bartlett. Her work is in numerous public and private collections and exhibited throughout the United States.
